Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Hindu Calendar Panchang 2026 is a free, ad-supported Vedic calendar and daily panchang. It provides Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga, Karana, Choghadiya, Shubh Muhurat, Rahu Kaal, sunrise and moon timings, vrat dates, festival alerts and a katha library.

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, phone number or payment card to use the core calendar.

2. Privacy summary

• No login. The app is designed to work without a user account.
• Location is for panchang, not tracking you as a person. GPS or a city you pick is used to calculate sunrise-based Tithi, Choghadiya and muhurat for that place. Core astronomical calculations are intended to run on your device.
• The app contains ads. Advertising partners (typically Google AdMob and Google Play / Google advertising services) may collect device identifiers such as Advertising ID to show and measure ads.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• You can stop collection by turning off location or ads personalization in system settings, or by uninstalling the app.

Google Play Data safety labels are a short summary. This Policy is the detailed notice. If a label and this Policy ever differ, this Policy describes our intended practices for the current version of the app.

3. Information we process

3.1 Information you choose to provide

• City or location preference if you select a city instead of using GPS. Stored on the device so the calendar stays correct the next time you open it.
• Language preference (for example Hindi or Gujarati) and reminder settings.
• Support messages if you email us. That mailbox will contain whatever you write (email address, device model, screenshots you attach).

3.2 Information processed on the device

• Approximate or precise location, when you allow it, to compute local sunrise, sunset, moon timings, Tithi, Choghadiya, Rahu Kaal and related panchang values. This is a feature of the product, not a social or mapping network.
• Notification permission if you enable festival and vrat alerts. Reminder state stays on the device.
• Calendar and katha content packaged with the app, used locally.

We do not operate a user profile database of your panchang readings. Uninstalling the app deletes the local preferences stored by the app.

3.3 Information collected by advertising and platform services

Because the app is ad-supported and distributed through Google Play and the App Store, independent platforms may process:

• Advertising ID / device identifiers for ad serving, frequency capping, fraud prevention and measurement.
• Approximate location, IP address, device type, OS version, app version, crash logs and coarse usage events through Google Play Services, Apple’s services, and SDKs that may be present such as Google AdMob, Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics.
• Diagnostic data if the app crashes, so we can fix bugs.

These providers act as independent controllers or processors under their own policies. We do not receive your payment card details; Google Play or Apple handles any store billing.

4. How we use information

• To calculate and display panchang, muhurat, choghadiya and festival data for the selected place and date.
• To remember your city, language and alert preferences on the device.
• To show ads that support the free app, and to measure that those ads were delivered.
• To keep the app stable (crash and performance diagnostics).
• To answer support emails and meet legal obligations.

We do not use your panchang or location history to build a marketing profile of your religious practice, and we do not sell lists of users.

5. Legal bases (EEA/UK users) and Indian law

If GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of the contract (providing the calendar you asked for), legitimate interests (security, basic diagnostics, keeping the app free via ads), and consent where required (precise location, notifications, personalized ads / ATT on iOS, or equivalent Google consent).

If you are in India, we process personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable IT rules. You may withdraw consent for optional permissions in system settings. Location and notifications are optional; refusing them may limit city-accurate timings or alerts, but the packaged calendar can still be used.

6. Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share or allow processing only:

• With platform and advertising vendors named above, as needed to run ads, distribute the app and diagnose crashes.
• With professional advisers or hosting providers bound to confidentiality, if needed to operate this website.
• When required by law, court order, or to protect users, the public or our rights against fraud or abuse.
• If we transfer the app or company, under this same standard of protection.

Hindu festival content, aarti and katha displayed in the app are religious and educational materials, not a data-sharing product.

7. Retention

• On-device preferences remain until you change them or uninstall.
• Support emails are kept only as long as needed to resolve the request and for a reasonable archive (typically up to 24 months), unless law requires longer.
• Advertising and analytics data is retained by Google, Apple or other SDKs under their policies. We do not run a separate warehouse of your Advertising ID.

8. Security

We use standard commercial safeguards: HTTPS for this website, limited access to the support inbox, and on-device storage for preferences. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. Please do not email passwords or sensitive identity documents unless we specifically ask for them to verify a legal request.

9. Children

The app is rated for a general audience and is a public Hindu calendar. It is not directed at children under 13 (or under 18 where that is the digital consent age). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. We do not show the app as a children’s product. Parents who believe a child provided personal data by email should contact us and we will delete it from our inbox.

Ads in a general-audience app may still be served by Google according to the user’s device ad settings. Use Google family and ad settings if a device is used by a child.

10. Your choices and rights

• Location: deny or revoke in Android / iOS settings, or choose a city manually.
• Notifications: turn off in system settings or in the app’s reminder options.
• Ads personalization: Android — Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization / delete Advertising ID. iOS — Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and App Tracking Transparency prompts.
• Uninstall to stop all further app-level collection on that device.

Depending on your country, you may request access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of consent for personal data we hold in our support records. Email initiodevelopers@gmail.com. We will need enough detail to find your message; we cannot remotely wipe Advertising ID data held only by Google or Apple — use the platform controls above.

11. International processing

We are based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Google, Apple and advertising infrastructure may process data in the United States and other countries. If you use the app from outside India, you understand that such transfers are necessary to provide a globally distributed store app.

12. This website (Blogger)

This site is hosted on Google Blogger. Google may set cookies or collect logs when you browse pages, including Privacy Policy and Terms pages. See Google’s Privacy Policy and Blogger’s terms. We use the site to publish legal notices and information about the app, not to run a social network.

13. Changes

We may update this Policy when the app, ads stack or the law changes. The “Last updated” date will change. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
